Thirty-year-old public interest corporation established for the purpose of ensuring nurture and healthy development of the Franchising Industry
Japan Franchise Association (JFA) is a public interest corporation established in 1972 with the permission of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (now the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry), for the purpose of providing healthy development of the Franchising System. The members of JFA consist of leading franchisors in Japan which run franchise businesses and companies which are interested in franchising and agree over the purpose of JFA.
The Franchising Industry has shown steady growth. This is the result of the fact that the reason and innovation of the Franchising System have been recognized by the society, that franchisors have adapted themselves to the social and economic changes, developing effective marketing strategies and excellent management systems.
Meanwhile, JFA has been engaged in various franchising-related activities including education and training, research and study, and the formulation of the code of ethics. JFA has always been playing the role as the center of the franchising business sector.
The Franchising Industry has been drawing attention and hopes of the business community by constantly providing new products and services which respond to the changing social needs. In recent years in particular, the Industry has been noted for such contributions as entrepreneurial promotion/initiation, employment creation and community service; hence the society has been increasingly hopeful.
While the Franchising System is drawing more hopes, it is also facing such issues as pre-contractual disclosure, environmental and recycling problems, which the Industry as a whole must address.
For the Franchising System to achieve a greater leap forward, we believe it is of vital importance to the franchisors and JFA joining hands so that the Industry as a whole may venture into a new era. JFA is committed to engage in various activities which will prosper the Franchising System more than ever.
